The temperatures a product was processed at determines whether it is raw or not. Raw products must be processed under 45°C, otherwise the product starts losing heat sensitive nutrients and can no longer be classified as raw.

 

Some products, such as Sevenhills Wholefoods Organic Chia Seeds, are raw as the processing does not involve application of high temperatures. Chia is cleaned in fresh water and then dried at temperatures not exceeding 45°C. This applies to both our organic and conventional chia seeds.


All cold pressed and freeze dried products are also raw, unless the raw material is roasted, cooked prior to/after freeze drying/cold pressing.
